Cupping Massage (Myofascial Release)
Myofascial cupping massage involves using small cups to lift and compress tissue into the cup, the immediate effect is increased blood supply to the treatment area. When the cups are attached, they lift and separate the tissue beneath whilst giving a gentle stretch to the adjoining areas. The pressure of the cups can be adjusted to your comfort level and whether left stationary in one spot, or, if gliding over the skin, can feel almost painless or the intensity can be increased to give an intense, deep tissue massage.
The effects of cupping are profound, as alone it can assist with maintaining or improving range of motion, releasing trigger points, reducing and relieving adhesions which lay beneath the skin undetected and can be the cause of pain and discomfort. Cupping massage is useful in situations where massage can't be tolerated.
Myofascial Cupping is NOT the same as Traditional Chinese (flame) Cupping as this type of cupping targets the musculo-skeletal system rather than working with energy meridians.
